Message from Dr. Booker: Pools, Cookouts and Summertime; How Will You Grade the Quality of Your Life?

Dr. William Booker of Capitol Rehab of ArlingtonMemorial Day has come and passed, officially signaling the start summer or as my kids call it "Pools and Cookouts"! I always find Memorial Day a great time to rest, rejuvenate and reflect. So allow me to share my 3 Memorial Day Nuggets!

1. Take time t o remember those heroes who sacrificed everything so that we could enjoy the luxury of peaceful times.

2. Try and take the weekend off...use that time wisely! Turn off the blackberry, unplug the laptop and enjoy a couple of honest restand relaxation.

3. Eat well, drink well and rest well! Think of these days as rejuvenation days, and rejuvenate.

If you spend any time looking at cultures around the world, you quickly realize that Americans spend far more time working and/or thinking about work than almost everyone else. And for what? At the end of the day, you won't measure your time on this earth by the volume of transactions you made or the number deals you closed; Your life will be graded by the quality of your relationships, and the value of your memories.

Over the summer, I hope you try and find a few more moments of quiet, maybe a few more corners of solitude with nothing but your thoughts. I hope you find more moments to take advantage and reflect on the goodness of life.

Yours in Health,

Dr. William Booker
